if your job is valve maintenance then first of all you have to isolate it so that there is no energy source in or out and after that, you need to put a rated blind to its upstream and downstream lines or branches maintain isolation in case of any valve passing.
Then you have to remove the valve after unbolting it followed by rigging and lifting. Take it to the workshop after removal, service it. Now every valve has its own procedure for servicing. In most of the cases if there is no any damage to its parts then just clean it, apply coating on it and then do the leak test. If it gets passed in leak taste and no any passing is found then it is released for use in the plant.
